The most common things people ask before they tap their first card.

  • Do people need an app to receive my card?

    No app required. Ever. When someone taps your NFC card or scans your QR code, your card opens directly in their phone browser. Any browser on any phone works. They can save your contact with one tap, no install needed.

  • What is NFC?

    NFC stands for Near Field Communication. It is the same wireless technology behind contactless payments. Your Tapven physical card contains a tiny chip. Hold it near someone's phone (no app needed on their end): most Androids open your card right away, and iPhones show a small banner at the top of the screen that they tap to open it. iPhones since the XS and virtually all modern Android phones support it natively.

  • Does the tap really work on iPhones?

    Yes, and here is exactly what happens so there are no surprises. On iPhones (XS and newer, so 2018 onward), you tap your card near the top of their phone while the screen is on. A small banner appears, they tap it, and your card opens. From there, Save Contact is one more tap. On the rare phone without NFC, every Tapven card also shows your QR code, and every phone camera reads those. No app on anyone's phone, ever.

  • Can I use my own branding?

    Yes. Pro accounts can set a custom theme (colors, style) on every card. Teams accounts go further: set a central logo and brand color for the whole organization, and every card on the team reflects it automatically. No one goes off-brand.

  • Does it work on iPhone and Android?

    Yes, both. QR sharing works on every modern smartphone. NFC tapping works on iPhones XS and newer (iOS 14+) and on Android phones that support NFC, which covers the vast majority of Android devices made in the last several years. No setup required on the recipient's phone.

  • Can I cancel anytime?

    Yes. Cancel from your billing page in one click, no forms, no phone calls. Your card stays active until the end of the current billing period, then drops to the free tier. Your data is yours and you can export it before you go.

  • How do I get a physical NFC card?

    Order from the NFC tab in your dashboard. Pick your card, choose a quantity (single card at $19, three-pack at $39), enter your shipping address, and check out. Cards are printed with your slug pre-encoded so they tap straight to your live card page. Delivery typically takes 5 to 7 business days.
