Set up your first digital business card in 5 minutes

A step-by-step walkthrough to build, brand, and share your first Tapven card in about five minutes, no app and no design skills required.

By The Tapven Team

Paper cards take days to design, order, and reprint. A Tapven card takes minutes to build and shares with one tap. If you have five spare minutes, you can walk away with a live card ready to hand to your next contact.

Here is the exact path from zero to a working card. No app to install. No design degree needed. Just a phone or a laptop and the basics about yourself.

Before you start: gather three things

A little prep makes the whole thing faster. Grab these before you sign up:

  • Your core details. Name, title, company, phone, and email. The stuff that goes on any card.
  • A photo or logo. A clean headshot or your company logo. Square images look best.
  • Your top links. Think website, booking page, LinkedIn, or Instagram. Pick the two or three that actually matter to your work.

That is it. If you only have your name and email, you can still build a card now and add the rest later.

Step 1: Create your free account (about 30 seconds)

Head to app.tapven.com/signup and sign up with your email. No credit card. You land in your dashboard right away, with a blank card waiting for you.

The free card is real and shareable. You are not building a demo you have to pay to unlock.

Step 2: Add your essentials (about 90 seconds)

Fill in the fields that make up the front of your card:

  1. Name and title. Type them exactly how you want people to see them.
  2. Company. Add your business name. Solo? Use your personal brand or leave it blank.
  3. Phone and email. These become tappable. One tap calls you. One tap opens a draft email.

Save as you go. Your card updates live, so you can preview it on the right while you type. What you see is what your contacts will see.

Step 3: Make it yours (about 60 seconds)

This is where your card stops looking generic and starts looking like you.

  • Upload your photo or logo. Drag it in. Tapven crops it to fit cleanly.
  • Pick your color. Match your brand or pick a shade that pops. The accent color carries across your whole card.
  • Add your links. Drop in your website, booking link, and the social profiles you want front and center. Reorder them so the most important one sits on top.

Keep it focused. A card with three sharp links beats a card with twelve. You want people to know exactly what to tap.

Step 4: Set your save-to-contacts button (about 30 seconds)

This is the feature paper cannot touch. Tapven generates a one-tap Save Contact button that drops your full details straight into someone’s phone as a standard vCard.

Double-check the fields that flow into it. Your name, number, email, and company should all be filled in. When someone taps that button, you go into their address book correctly the first time. No typos. No lost cards in a jacket pocket.

Step 5: Share it and test it (about 60 seconds)

Now make sure it works in the real world.

  • Grab your QR code. Tapven creates one automatically. Save it to your phone’s home screen or lock screen so you can flash it in two taps.
  • Copy your card link. Drop it in your email signature, your text messages, or your social bios. Anywhere a link lives, your card can live.
  • Do a test run. Open your card on a friend’s phone or a second device. Tap Save Contact. Confirm you land in their contacts cleanly. Thirty seconds of testing saves an awkward fumble at your next meeting.

If you ordered a Tapven NFC card or sticker, this is where you tap it to a phone and watch your page open. Same card, second way to share.

You are done. Now the best part.

Your card is live, and it stays current forever. Change jobs? Update your title once and every card you have ever shared updates instantly. New phone number? Same deal. The QR code on last year’s flyer and the link in your old email both point to the current you. Nobody ends up with a dead number.

That is the whole pitch for going digital. You build it once, share it endlessly, and never reprint again.
